As much as we enjoy recognizing our members for their dedication we also know we could never do what we do without the support of our loved ones.

The old Tunxis Hose fire station located on Lovely Street is a source of pride for our department. Built in 1894, it first served our community with horses paddocked where what is now M&T Bank (the stories of the horses are for another post). For our 125th anniversary in 2018 and for our 130th anniversary in 2023 we worked hard to decorate the station in the same way they did in the 19th and 20th centuries.

We had no clue how to fold the flags and the bunting the correct way, but luckily we had Cathleen Nowak that took all of the decorations, prepped, folded, and then directed us how to hang them.

In appreciation of her efforts, Chief Higley presented her with a special recognition award. Thank you Cathleen, and to all our families that have the same dedication to Tunxis Hose as we do!
